@Metalistas - For Baal with the Tankbarb, try ignoring the summons completely. You're tanky enough that they're just annoyances. SoR on Baal directly (don't target the summons).

Odds are pretty good that their debuff won't hit you due to its short range and the fact that you're holding your ground (not advancing into it). I can't remember my tankbarbs dying much vs Baal at all.

Good to hear you liked it, it is stupidly overtanky and i've always had fun with him.

Right now i am a bit testing and restating. One thing i wanted to try out is only 25 points into Bear stance for 50% p.damage reduction (since not using any -%reduction items). 15 points into wolves for 4 animals. Max runemaster, immortal, mountain king, and rest go into spirit guide. Defense jumps up to 1.4 mill Smile damage is shown in char screen as 45k-69k shower of rock (1 pointers in all melee, 0 in spirits and throw). Using set Gathering of tribes + dead man's gloves (jah in weapon, lah in armor).

High res - SP only. I almost stopped playing single player. Right now i am into that other mod while MXL gets the left over time after work, sport and if not lazy Very Happy And even with that time most of it is for MP. After Xaphans mod the MXL act 3 kurast seems like abandoned place, i had to look for mobs lol Very Happy
Danielwolf > i am doing this barb build in MP at the moment. At low levels (before 90) i just have enough points for all my desired skills - mountain king, spirit guide, wolfs and of course bear stance. It was slow start abusing fortress (casting it and runing away lol), but as soon as i got two crystals = Oni no Ona = win.

- Bul-Kathos Teaching TU Kreigsmesser (good dmg, +skills, Inner Fire oskill for healing, life, losim, tcd)
- Jitan's Kamon TU Splint Mail (ctc Guard tower on kill, rainbow dmg, %dr, decent def)
- Toorc's Gift TU Heavy Gloves (ctc glacial nova on attack, ias, cold dmg, stun, cold res)
- Lionpaw TU Chain Boots (+stats, life, mana, tcd)
- Invictus TU Gilded Shield (ctc GotW on kill, +stats, %dr, tcd, massive def)
- Thunderdome TU Assault Helmet (ctc Flash on attack, light dmg, Lightning Shield oskill, %str, good def)
- Honorific tier 1 sash (fill with res orbs to max out in each difficulty)
- Char orb customised along the way (+skill, %leech, losim, tcd, %max life, regen, one mana per kill boost, etc)

Forget the summons, apart from 5 pts wolves. Before lvl 90, add to spirit guide to get your def and dmg up higher when you have spare pts, then respec at 90. Use an Exemplar merc, so you don't have to worry about healing him in fights much.

I've been offline for a month, so i've played a sp untwinked tankbarb (among others twinked), making or finding these along the way. Tal Rasha took a while, but i fought him at lvl 65 for an extra challenge. Had np getting sunstone or cc either. Online my tankbarb still packs most of this setup and he was dest viable

Ok. Only problem is i am 120 already (easy to do in MP) Very Happy And it's kinda twinked since i have other chars and i share charms when i play any of them. Right now i am trying to get set for him since random uniques i got make little sense and use. Plus he has not eaten signets.
I am anti merc person. Maybe it's the problem of the attitude but i never rely on them except TA challenge with act 3 merc. Smile

Oh, i don't use that merc online.

I use an act 3 Bloodmage with gear crafted and soc'd for more spell dmg.

He stays back from the combat, heals the party occasionally, and he's great for ranged support. Decent fire and poison spells help vs phys immunes too.

Since the barb does the tanking and SoR is excellent for aggro, he usually survives very well.

Miniguide to Athene, the Javazon

Stats:

Strength: enough for gear

Crushing blow= ideally 100%
-100% Enemy Poison resist
-Enemy fire resist = ideally 100% (60-70 is also fine, we usually use the skill to finish off enemies with poison from curare and add extra fire dmg)
75% Chance to Block - midgame is easily achievable with crafts and perfect amethyst, the more charms you acquire the the less %dex you will need and you can start replacing the amethysts with crafted jewels (seen in jewelry section)

Skills:

Neutral tree:

Wild and Free - 1 to 10 points
Balance - sMax
Curare - sMax
War spirit - sMax

Javelin tree:

Moonbeam - enough for 7 seconds duration (~10 pts)
Ricochet - 15-20pts
Moonqueen - sMax
Fairy ring - 1 to leftovers

Breakpoints for Java:

Increased Attack Speed (IAS) = 133% = 7 FPA  With sMax Moonqueen you will need around 15-20% IAS, and that is easily achieved from items or charms. So you dont have to worry about your IAS cap.
Faster Block Rate(FBR) = 174% = 4 FPA
*Faster Hit Recovery(FHR) = 174% = 4 FPS

*While IAS and FBR breakpoints are a 100% MUST, FHR is not a must, but also easily achievable (Wild and Free grants a total of ~90 itself)
*There is mostly no early-game gear options, cause Athene is a bow or spearzon early game, but you can always use your imagination.

Farming Spots and other Ubers:

This build is built for farming exclusively Fauztinville and Vijzun.
Ubers like : Akarat, Khalimgrad, Rathma Square, Duncraig and all the other easy charms are extremely easy as well.
Might Update later to add more details on other Ubers.
General Gameplay:

Fauztinville:

First of all : I can't stress enough how important reanimates are here. Our weapon already provides good amount of reanimates and godly slow proc on kill, but if you feel like you get hit too often , feel free to add some %reanimate MO to your gear.
Pre-cast  Moonbeam every time before rushing into a pack of monsters, start spamming richochet and let the poison, banish, CB , *45% Javelin on striking do their job. When you melted 80% of the enemies with your awesomeness, spam 3-4 times fairy ring for leftover monsters, which are usually necrobots and few flying around Harpylisks.
Moonbeam pierces through your enemies and with 3/2 WDM  makes it the perfect skill to spread curare poison in tiny corridors filled with monsters (especially necrobots who are usually blocking them). Before entering/jumping into rooms - summon edyrems, pre-cast moonbeam.
The thing with monsters in Fauzt (mostly Harpylisks and Necrobots) the lower the number the higher the chance to get pwned. Often you will find yourselves in situations where you tank 100 monsters at once and really melting them down, and sometimes 2-3 harpies or necrobots can be a pain in the ass not missing a single shot and taking your HP to low very quickly. In this situations remember to walk away, pre-cast moonbeam, drink a potion if you have to and proceed to wreck those little pricks.
Vizjun:

These robots die so fast, that you can go for Paragon instead of Curare here for extra survivability.
Simply choose Paragon over Curare (1pt is enough), get some bloodstones into your gear for extra fire resists (helps surviving the mines). Invest more points into fairy ring. Pre-cast moonbeam, enter the Uber, spam ricochet for a while, and proceed on spaming only fairy ring - they will melt so fast that  you'd think they don't spawn. Beware of mines, but once you learn the spots you don't have to worry about the mines, nor the beacons.

EDIT:
Current farming setup + socket fillers:

Not perfect. In need of better amulet, rings, and about 10 crucial charms.

Weapon:

PROs and CONs compare to [+Kra] Weapon:
[+]With this weapon the KS is almost twice higher compared to Kra runeword.
[+] Higher %CB
[+] Twice as much Laek
[-] No reaimates
[-] No slow
All in all the KS compensates for the slow and meathshields loss.
