Post by WolfieeifloW on Sun Jun 30, 2013 5:29 am

Looking for some useful (Or über cool) Skyrim mods.

I haven't tested any thus far, but some useful ones look like:
SkyUI
Skyrim Better Performance
Red & Gold Noble Beds
Vivid Eyes
Convenient Horses
Unofficial Skyrim Patch

Words of the expert:
* If you plan on using one big overhaul which is incompatible with all perk/weapons/armor mods use Skyrim Redone

* Then goes Dwemerverse haven't tried it myself, but sounds like a very cool mod, and its made by Laz!

* Immersive Weapons simply the best weapon mod

* Immersive Armors by the same author, best armor mod! Razz

* JaySuS Swords a very good swords mod

* Skyrim monster mod, here you have 2 options for downloading, one from the nexus, with reduced content (long story) here
Or one from TPB, the full one (torrent) here
Maybe you want the full one but don't trust TPB for some reasons, just google it, I found one on modDB but when I tried to DL it was only ~200 kb, which is weird since TPB one is 400 mb anyway I recommend dl'ing from TPB, it isn't fake, and it has no viruses absolutely.

* An addon to skyrim monster mod Skyrim Monster Mod Additions it adds new ingridients and vanity items that drop off the new monsters.

* Skyrim Immersive Creatures a very good mob-mod (You NEED to use Wrye Bash if you wanna use immersive creatures and sky monster mod, you can find wrye bash and the guide to mod merging if you scroll down a little on my post)

* If you feel Conjuration sucks, use this Psikotics Necromancy Mod
Skyrim Monster Mod version of the above mod, here Click
Now if you use the Monster Mod edition of above mod, it will work PERFECTLY with SkyRE, but you need this Compatibility Patch

* VERY good spell mod, by Brother Laz! Apocalypse

* Another awesome spell mod: Phenderix's Magic

* If you're still not satisfied with spells... Midas Magic <--But I never actually used this one.

* AMAZING cloak mod Cloaks of Skyrim

* Dragons suck, use Deadly Dragons

* Unofficial Skyrim Patch (and other DLC's)  http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19/?

* Enhanced Blood Textures for beautiful blood

* The Dance of Death for more killmoves, and you can set the percent chance for a killmove to appear

* Now for textures,  a good overall texture overhaul: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/607/?

* Some nice armor/weapon texture overhaul Book of Silence

* If you want a female body changer, use UNP or http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/2666/?

Some things:

# If you use Unofficial Skyrim Patch, and have other DLCs, download this patch for other DLCs aswell

# Some of the mods I linked require some DLCs (most of them need dawnguard, some need dragonborn)

# If you're like me you can just download those DLCs Wink

# If you want to install Psikotics' Necromancy mod with SkyRE, which requires monster mod, but you prefer to use immersive creatures and don't know how to use wrye bash, just put the immersive creatures after monster mod in the load order (just learn to use wrye bash...its too easy and I linked a guide down here V )

Edit: Alright lets put some more here, see what I can do...

* First and foremost, the author of the PsiKotik's skymonecrro+SkyRE compatibility patch has deleted the file. I still had it and got it uploaded here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/4x1w5h43l5emwkx/Compatibility_Patch_-_PsiNecroSkyMo_with_SkyRe.esp

* Then we have another new mod by Laz, but anyone probably knows about it since it was a global announcement here, but still I will give the link :Phttp://www.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/41376

* Then we have the Wrye Bash, not a mod but a tool, you WILL need it if you want to combine, say, Skyrim Monster Mod, Skyrim Immersive Creatures, and Deadly Dragons. If you won't merge those 3, you will only see the mobs from one of them! As well as, say, you have 3 weapon mods, 1 adds, for example some swords to some dungeon, the other one adds axes to a house, and the third one adds maces to a cave. If you don't merge them, you will only see the weapons from one mod inside the dungeon/cave/house whatever. You can find Wrye Bash here http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/1840//?
And a guide to merging mods (From my point of view, this guide explains clearly how to merge mods and its very easy, you just need to know how to read and you'll be good, altho its pictorial, so you don't even need reading skills! Genius!) Here's the link for it: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/36189//?

#Also, there is rumour/fact that you need to "clean" mods with a program called TES5EDIT from dirty edits to make them work better/kill your game/save less. I have still no idea how to use it, and I will learn and post here when im done with reinstalling my skyrim...again..

* Ok, now another mod I stumbled upon is this one http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/24222/?tab=1&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D24222%26preview%3D&pUp=1
It adds many new cool abilities to your vampire/vampire lord, but also adds a "hunger" system where you must feed every some time or else you will get weaker and weaker. The more you use your abilities, the more you need to feed. Also if you stand in sunlight it will kill you after some time unless you have more than 90% blood in your blood pool (you press "B" to check it)

* Then we have this tool called Reproccer: If you use Skyrim Redone (SkyRE) but you also really want to use weapon/armor mods you need to use it: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/28467/?
If you just download it raw as-is, you will need to manually edit the file to change other mods' values. However, some nice people already did that for some of the "most famous' mods and putted a link here http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29375/?
To use, install the reproccer by dropping the SkyProc Patchers folder inside you skyrim/data folder, then after you downloaded the patches, open the very first folder in the archive (of the patches) which is called 000 stats xml something and drop its contents into               X\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data\SkyProc Patchers\T3nd0_ReProccer
Then, open up the patches archive again. You will see a damn lot folders, and you will need to choose one, or more! For example I only use SkyRE, Immersive Weapons and Immersive Armors in my game. So I will choose the folder called "Pre Reproccer IW IA Patch". After you made your choices, plant the esp file inside your skyrim data folder, activate it, and then run the reproccer.jar located in
The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data\SkyProc Patchers\T3nd0_ReProccer
If you have any problems with the Reproccer, errors, or the reproccer.esp deleting itself after patching, just post here, I know the answer to most of the errors.

* ASIS, Automatic Spells, Increased Spawns: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/18436/?
What this mod does is actually written in the description here^ but I will post here if you're too lazy to read:
---- NPC access to spells added by mods and missing vanilla spells. ----
---- NPC access to health, magicka and stamina potions. ----
---- NPC access to perks added by mods and missing from the originals. ----
---- Increased numbers of spawns. ----
---- Better enemy AI. ----
---- Built in Randomized-Spawn System Enabled through the Patcher
It works like the reproccer, you drop the folders from the archive into skyrim/data folder, activate the esp and patch with the skyproc patcher folder. You will then have a new file called ASIS.esp you will have to activate it too Smile

* WTF - Random Encounter Zones: Another patcher http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/28761//?
What it does is randomizes the encounter zones, in some areas you can encounter simple bandit thugs for example, and in other areas it will be full of marauders. I don't really like it however because im using ASIS, so there are a lot of mobs AND they're mostly OP (yup most of them become stronger, or maybe I am searching in the wrong areas Sad)

* Realistic Needs And Diseases: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26228/?
What it does: Well it adds a hunger thirst and fatigue system (vampires ignore that system, unless you specify otherwise in the Mod configuration) and..yeah not much to explain...the system is configurable, you can choose how fast you get tired/hungry/thirsty, also when you drink things you gain empty bottles, which you can refill while standing in water.

# Alright, I don't know if I was drunk when I first wrote this list, but I didn't put up frostfall here? And not even SkyUI? ffs....

* SkyUI, this mod changes the UI of your game, but most importantly, it adds the MCM, a configurator for (most) for your mods (for the ones that support it) if you wanna use the MCM, but hate the UI, use http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29440/?

* Frostfall http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11163//?   this mod adds "cold levels" to your game, as well as the ability/tools to survive in skyrim, you can make tents, build campfires, and gain adaptation to the cold temperature of skyrim as you learn to survive. Also Skyrim Redone has a good support for this mod.

* Climates of Tamriel http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17802/? well can't really explain here much, you will have to find about it on the site, but I can tell you that it adds weathers to your skyrim, and the option for darker nights/dungeons. Also it adds ambient sounds.

* Recurve Longbows http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29950//?  this mod adds longbows to your game, they are stronger, can shoot further, but require more drawing time. As of SkyRE patch 13 (I think it was 13) it supports this mod too. All original bows become shortbows, and the bows from this mod are longbows.

* About graphic/texture mods/ENBs, you can find a lot of material on this sole video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EbZgBXxBd8   at 00:38 you can see all the texture mods he's using, and they're very good, and I use them too Smile and then, later in the video, you can find a comparison between 10 best ENB mods. However, the sharpshooters ENB made me lose a lot of fps on this computer
http://www.medianxl.com/t2245-new-computer
So it may kill your performance....

That's it for now, will update some more later but now I need a nap

I thank you for that list, perhaps I will use some of those someday.

I should have specified though, at least for now I don't want anything that adds new items, spells, etc. to the game.
If you notice, all the stuff I listed is purely cosmetic (Except the horses one, hence the strikeout).

I believe all the one's I listed should work fine together.
SkyUI won't let me download it though from the nexusmods page.

Just downloaded SkyUI 4.1 from the Nexus fine, installed it and it works properly.
I don't know about you but I have EXTREME lag on the Nexus, maybe you have too, and it just didn't download because of lag. There are some files I must try redownloading ~50-100 times <---not an exaggeration.

For the cosmetic mods... I don't know much, except the Enhanced Blood Textures, UNP and Book of Silence.
But since I've got new computer i'll need to download some aswell Very Happy will do soon probably, i'll tell you if I see something good

What the hell, it still won't work for me, from any server.
Do you have Skype, or can you email it to me?

Do you have Unofficial Skyrim Patch too?

I can email, but unofficial patch weights too much, but I can upload it to mediafire

Do I just place the 5 files inside of the %PATH%/Data/Textures folder, or?

Just inside the data. But don't forget to activate them using Nexus Mod Manager or the original launcher

Man, I'm a noob I guess.
I have all the mods from my OP inside the Data folder, and I have SKSE installed, but when I use the original launcher, 'Data Files' is still grayed out.
