They make Krillin look so retarded in the anime. It's truly a shame.

Trouble with DBZ is each season it's like watch season 1 over and over again. I mean seriously, they (the main characters) are constantly finding themselves under-powered to fight villain "x", so they must reach to new depths within themselves to find a way to defeat this enemy. Really, no matter how you slice it, season 1 is no different than the rest of the seasons. DB (minus the Z) had much more creativity and was a pretty cool show. The buildup to reach SSJ in DBZ was so long in the making, that once it was finally reached in S3, there was really nothing more. So of course, there was a level beyond SSJ1, but we all know SSJ2 is not much of an improvement in strength and power. Anyways, point is, the series failed to really get any good story beyond attaining the next level of super saian. I enjoyed some of the filler episodes evolving the character backgrounds more than the actual DBZ story in some cases.

The problem is that it's too fucking slow; Mangas are infinitely better.
Even Dragon Ball Kai, the "HD" remakes, who were supposed to cut all the crap, end up being 100 episodes from Raditz to Cell, which is from manga 17 to manga 34. 100 episodes for 17 tomes. That being said, it's still enjoyable enough.
