why not unreal engine, cry engine or even open source? In either case, this game would need programmers and artists with full time dedication to go standalone.

I think it would be the only thing that I would actually fund on kickstarter. And as for other engines, other are generally good but I like the source engine for it's remarkable ability to be used at reasonable settings on toasters. I think it would be an awesome thing to see. Very Happy

Because it can make games look good on toasters

I have a 2012 macbook AIR running DOTA 2 with native resolution and medium settings. Its beautiful.

Considering its a freaking NETBOOK....
