List: Skill Suggesting Thread

Rules:
- absolutely no off topic. Posts that are not skill suggestions will be removed. If it happens more than once, user will be warned.
- Do not comment on other person's skill. I will judge myself, so keep this thread clean, as I'll use it as a reference.
- If you have an improvement for another person's skill; like a better name, just quote his post and add the improvements.
- Do not quote another's post if your skill suggestion is very different. Just do this for very similar/improvement changes.
- Denied or implemented skill suggestion posts will be removed. Do not even think of reposting it if it's gone.
- - edit: They will not be removed, they will be spoiled with spoiler tags instead.

Skill Name: Fire/Cold Element Chain
Type: fire, cold
Class: barb weapon atack/unholy Paladin cast(hate ugly, laggy mind flay)/when struck proc/oskill melee atack
Mechanics: Original D2 Sorceress chain lightning, i find it very beautifull, especialy how it slides from target to target and i miss it, just recolored in blue/red.

Type: wdm
Class: nec/oskill
Mechanics: Targetable permanent casting spell like Black Mass with very high rate. Targeted monster suffer casters weapon damage without AR check + gets some debuff while u keep casting (maybe slow), can be casted on bosses. Having this skill dont allow to use any necro melee\bow tree skills.

Skill Name: Elemental Mistress
Type:: passive
Class:: sorc
Mechanics: rainbow passive like trinity for sorc. different is, it is now min-dmg instead of max. Poison aswell if possible. Have %synergies per hard point into their own elemental tree (like ways). Each 2 point into magic tree = +1max point into this skill.

Hopefully uberskill rainbow-melee sorc or maybe some sort of oskill like bow-sorc.

Skill Name: Adventuring Skill?
Type: passive
Class: maybe all classes (all classes would share the same one simple tree)
Mechanics: +MF%, GF% or exp rate - it would just help new characters to level up or to farm something... or divide this skill into another skills below this as a tree... then the player can simply re-spec on higher levels to choose better skills (I've seen this in Torchlinght and I think it's good) Smile

Level 1 -
Skill Name: Werewolf
Type: Buff / Morph
Class: Druid
Mechanics: Morph, grants Poison damage / level with increasing returns, +crushing blow (self synergy to max 20%), +total character defense +5% / level (self synergy, or some other synergy like another melee skill). Hard points increase duration by 8 seconds with starting length of 60 seconds. Pureblood synergies - Adds replenish life full life over 40 seconds, diminishing returns, floor of 20 seconds. Adds flat defense, increasing returns.

Level 6 -
Skill Name: Rage
Type: Melee attack
Class: Druid - Morph only
Mechanics: Vanilla frenzy type skill, adds dmg% / TCD / frw / fhr / Deadly strike (TOPS 10%) and avoid (tops like 15%). Like frenzy, buffs only apply after first hit, buff lasts for 3 seconds.

Level 12 -
Skill Name: Surge
Type: WDM
Class: Druid - Morph only
Mechanics: Dragon flight VLOD skill. Does poison damage over time to target at location, can only target monster at location. Spell Timer of 6 seconds, -0.2 seconds / hard point.

Level 18 -
Skill Name: Pureblood
Type: Passive
Class: Druid - Morph only
Mechanics - Locks out Bow skills. Adds synergies to Werewolf. See werewolf.

Level 24 -
Skill Name: Silverhunt
Type: Debuff spell with WDM - Morph only
Class: Druid
Mechanics: Invisible AoE (2/3 again in size to Area Effect Attack) that reduces speed (-1.5% / hard point) and armor (-3% / soft point) of enemies caught with 1/4 weapon dmg. Has cool down of 15 seconds (- 0.5 seconds / hard point). Missile hits seen as 2 frame non-animated Werewolf flashes.

Not finished, yet.

I've never thought about skills, but here's some quick ideas.
Skill Name: Storm Surge
Type: Cold
Class: Druid/oskill maybe?
Mechanics: Launches a raven in the direction of your cursor that has the LoD
skill Hurricane around it, but waay smaller. The hurricane deals cold damage like regular, but when the raven hits something it explodes into a few tornadoes that also do cold damage. It would probably be better to make it not go in a straight line like tornado so that it has less auto-aim mechanics.

Not sure if this skill could work as intended, but you could change it of course.
Skill Name: Towers of Magic
Type:Technically a summon/Buff?
Class: Sorceress
Mechanics: Summons 3 pillars around the player to form a triangle. The pillars would have the same graphics as the pillars from level challenge 0, but recolored. Each pillar buffs the player in a different way. Teal pillar increases cast rate, purple pillar increases elemental damage; and blue pillar increases max mana. The radius of the buff works like firedance where it shows the radius from the circle around the pillar.
The 3 pillars can all be targeted and broken by monsters, and the skill has a timer delay of 15 seconds and lasts for 10 seconds. Each point would increase the buffs and the pillars' life.

Skill Name: Gut Rot
Type:: Curse (?)
Class:: Nec
Mechanics: The targeted enemy takes massive damage over time, upon death under the curse the kill will explode in a wide area.

Skill Name: Defiler
Type:: Summon
Class:: Nec
Mechanics: Summons a vile creature of death which curses your opponents, it also consumes corpses to increase it's max life (Decreasing returns). Enemies near it will loose health over time. (Think the opposite of a blood aura from a shadow minion)
(This creature is ranged)

Skill Name: Defile
Type:: Curse
Class:: Defiler
Mechanics: Enemies cursed in the area, when take damage, the damage will spread to other enemies.

Skill Name: Devils Blood
Type:: PAssive/Aura
Class:: Defiler
Mechanics: Enemies within range of this aura will loose health over time. May or may not proc Defile

Skill Name: Blood Attunement
Type:: Passive/Buff
Class:: Barb
Mechanics: When hit with a ranged attack, it damages said ranged attacker based on a percentage of how much life you have lost. If it's magic damage, it instead deals damage in a small area.


Custom Paladin Build, skills are in no particular order.
Yes, this idea was inspired by Borderlands 2.

Skill Name: Chaos Aura
Type:: Buff, Aura
Class:: Pal
Mechanics: Enemies within range of the aura will take random elemental damage. Enemies struck by a certain damage may or may not be affected by it's element (Freezing, on fire, etc.)

Skill Name: Vile Advancement
Type:: Phys
Class:: Pal
Mechanics: The paladin charges into combat (Pretty much Charge from the classic game). This stuns a single target for 20 seconds (Flat rate), then buffs the paladin, for when he kills an enemy while under this buff, his kills are resurrected as Fanatics.

Minion Name: Fanatic
Type:: Elite, Resurrect
Skill 1:: Frenzy Aura: Greatly increases the attack speed and critical chance of nearby allies, while decreasing attack rating.
Skill 2: Charge (Basic charge into combat. Think of the bats from the sewers.)

Skill Name:: Lament
Type:: Curse
Class:: Pal
Mechanics: Places a debuff on monsters, has a chance to reflect damage back at an attacker. When the paladin strikes an enemy under this debuff, he gains additional armor and regenerates life.

Through alchemy and various mystic practics caster discovers his true being, his inside universe. Combining new discovery with alchemy he gain ability to manipulate life, death and nature.

Maybe this symbols can be used for Internal Orders

And this gates for Internal Thread

Skill Name: Spiritual Shift
Type: buff/passive
Class: nec/sor
Mechanics: Caster shifts to his internal plane becoming more powerfull each time he uses his true powers. Temporary add X flat energy, Y%dr\Y%tcd and Z flat all weapon elemental damages up to 10 stacks each time Internal Orders succes. Model should become ethereal when this is active and gather numbers of flashy orb around like original assa.

Skill Name: Internal Order: Death!
Type: wdm
Class: nec/sor
Mechanics: Strikes single target once ignoring ar with (wdm*(total energy\100)). Base skill succes chance - 40% + 2% of total energy and 1% (5% min chance) from total energy that dead corpse will shatter and proc Spirit Crack - massive X*wdm on arrea that should look somehow like original assa Mind Strike. Arrea can scale depending on energy too.

Requires a Staff. And must be huge mana cost like 20% of mp on all game stages.

Skill Name: Attract the Spirits
Type: phys/wdm/buff
Class: nec/sor
Mechanics: Attracts spirits from corpses around caster and using essences of them to gain temporary X flat energy and Y% spell damage per corpse. Also Z% from total energy that each corpse will be shattered and his spirit will be summoned as untargetable ethereal spirit that is binded to caster (like wolfes or familiars). Each spirit move with amazing speed atacking enemys dealing 1*wdm and 100% of total energy Phys dmg and returning 50% life leach to caster, also stunning enemys for 1.5 sec.

This buff length should somehow scale with energy too.

Skill Name: Internal Thread
Type: summon
Class: nec/sor
Mechanics: Summons an ethereal bone totem\gates from corpse that connects caster to his inner universe forcing all slain enemyes screenwide to be reanimated (or they can come out from gates) X% as casters fanatic running onto enemys and taking blows for master or Y% as casters prayer that starts to pray to caster rightaway constantly healing him and regenerating mana. Renewal effectivenes and number of fanatics hp depends somehow on energy.

Skill Name: Internal Order: Sciccion
Type: phys/wdm/curse
Class: nec/sor
Mechanics: Caster commands his body to split into atoms performing small atomic reaction and deal screenwide phys damage X% of total energy with Y% life leach and cursing enemys with blind curse. 1% of total energy that reaction will continue and deal also Z*wdm screenwide.

After sciccion caster become untargetable and ethereal for Xsec while forming new body he can continue casting and moving as a spirit.

Base Ysec delay and lowers with base energy down to Zsec.

Skill Name: Iternal Order: Exist! (Uber Skill)
Type: Summon
Class: nec/sor
Mechanics: Using alchemy combination of 4 elements caster reanimate corpses of fallen monsters and commands spirits to get back in vessels. Consuming corpses summons X number of tanky meat golems with life regeneration aura up to total energy\200 golems. Uses 75% of mana points.

Some massive alchemic pentagram should appear on ground. Like triangle in circle - omnielement.
