D2SE: Mod-plugins

Post by MarcoNecroX on Wed Oct 17, 2012 12:27 am

If you don't have a prefered mod or if you simply like to try other mods for amusement,
you can install the D2SE Modmanager - the best way to play multiple versions/mods
of Diablo 2 with only one diablo installation.

Steps:
1. Install the D2SE Modmanager
http://snej.d2maniacs.org/forum/index.php?topic=18504.0

2. Check for the list of available mods and download whatever mod you think you might like
http://snej.d2maniacs.org/forum/index.php?topic=18954.0

3. Install the modplugins as shown on the previos thread.

4. Have fun.

Ultimative is missing from Samuel's list, and I couldn't find your d2se plugin link to add to my program thread fyi.

It's not that important for people who know how to create their own mod folder within d2se, however Samuel has all the plugins as self-extracting installers, complete with their own unique d2se icon et al. It might make it easier for non-literate computer users to use your mod with d2se. That's all I'm saying.

Thing is , Ultimative is already a mod-plugin.. yes with icon and all. You just paste it in your MODS folder.
It just doesn't have the mindless .exe self-extract which also doesn't automatically place the folder in the MODS folder, so there is absolutely no difference.

Quick question, as I'm considering dl'ing this: does D2se modmanager contain all applicable patches or do I have to dl them seperately and add them to the folder?

D2SE has all the major patches from Diablo 1.07 to 1.13c... In that aspect it's very convenient

i'd say this mod needs D2Core 1.10f (in D2SE\CORE\ directory, included in the full d2se install)

Why does that looks familiar to me Very Happy

It seems like Median XL Edition....created by me Very Happy

And you have version 1, which didn't include older core files........version 2 is a lot better....

@crafter

As said, you need D2Core 1.10f.

You can install D2SE in some other directory, and then copy-paste 1.10f Core files to your current D2SE CORE directory.....

Or to install to current game directory, it shouldn't be any problem as I know.
