Keybinding tips thread

Post by grimjerk on Wed Sep 25, 2013 12:44 pm

I thought something like this might be handy for new players.

Tip for feeding pots to your merc.

I always assign Mouse 3 to the secondary binding for my Belt row 1 (someone should tell Blizzard that rows run horizontally and not vertically). That way I can feed him/her a pot by hitting shift and pressing my mouse wheel. I find this far less awkward than trying to hit shift and 1 both with my left hand.

1. When buying potions, Shift + right click will fill the entire belt
2. When trying to put potions in belt Shift + left click will automatically put them there
3. I always put Jitan's Gate on Mouse Wheel (up or down) and if I'm in danger, I can quickly teleport to safety

WinXP compatibility is enough

Ctrl+Click - sell item, you can hold Ctrl and just click on different items to sell them

My key-binding:

1-4 -> potion belt
tab -> map (it used to be on 3rd mouse key but w7 don't recognized it so i switch)
a,s,d,f,g,h,z,x -> skills, most offence, sometimes buffs
c ->town portal
v -> weapon switch

I still use f1-f12 Embarassed

why are you torturing yourself Ouchy?
mine:
1-4: pots
q,a: left click skill
w,e,r,s: right click skills is use often
d: summoning
f: short buffs
t: blink
F4: dark summon
F12: town portal
F1, 2, 3, 5: long buff
z: run/walk
x: weap switch

It's not really the best and i'm still getting used to it/thinking of a better setup but it works and I don't have to swim across the whole keyboard of F keys

That's the same reason I use my set-up, so I can rest my wrist on one of those ergo things and not move my hand. Some of my sillier characters I have to break down and use F1-4 for the occasionally used skills and extend the first two rows of skills over.

Instead of using many shortcut keys for different skills, buffs, de-buffs, etc. I simply use one key for "Skill Speed Bar"... I click it, select the skill/buff or whatever and I'm ready to go... After some time practicing (remembering skill pics in the menu) I do it really fast now...
