You need 200 IAS from items (IAS from skills is calculated differently) to reach the zon's highest attack rate.
It definitely makes a difference

If you use ecstatic frenzy--like all self respecting bowies--then you will need no IAS on gear. Yes it makes a difference, you just don't notice so much once you are completely and constantly surrounded by arrows.

IAS will allow to put more working Barrages in given time. Single arrows will be released at same time, as it's governed by skill mechanics, but you will be able to start next barrage sooner, without ending previous.

Same for wyrmshot. The only bow skill that is not based on IAS is phalanx, if I am right.

Yes. I'm pretty sure Phalanx is based off cast rate.

Barrage is definitely affected by ias. It's greatest weakness is dependant on the hardware you're running the game on though.

Slow PCs end up with frozen screens when using a high lvl barrage. On faster PCs it's much more devastating, allowing you to fire a devastating barrage with no great disadvantages.

This is less apparent online, since lag adds to Barrage's problems regardless of hardware (even a decent PC can freeze with enough arrows flying around)

Correct. The throwing up of the wall o bitches is based on cast rate. You would think that this would be obvious to people since the zon goes through her cast animation. The rate of fire may be affected by ias though. I can't remember.

I am pretty sure that the phalanx fire speed is fixed. Anyway, if it is not firing fast enough, cast another one Wink
