Exactly, you have this problem in your current LoD installation (without median installed), which means this issue is external to the mod. So it becomes in theory easier to know where the problem is, but harder to solve in the practice.

The logic goes as follows:

1) Install D2SE. You want to do this step first because it's the easiest. Here you can try different things such as switching video modes, and other random stuff and see if you get the game to work.

2) If the game still crashes, the problem is probably in the data files (.MPQ). The solution to this is installing the game from a different source and on a CLEAN folder (and make sure the game is uninstalled).

3) If the problem persists, it's a problem from the windows installation / hardware / who the hell knows. Here is where it becomes very difficult to solve, mainly because c000005 is a generic error.

So, since you tried all of this, you would guess you are at 3). But to be honest, I personally think the problem isn't there. I think you're doing something wrong in point 2, because you got a different error upon re-installing, so the issue is very likely either in the MPQs, dlls or registry. Luckily for you, step 1 will discard two options (registry/dlls), so you know the problem is in the MPQs, in which case you fucked up somewhere installing the game.

Sorry for all the hassle but now I'm getting an error after installing d2se and I can't find it anywhere on google.
The error is:
WAITING!
You should first select and start a mod inside 1. Instance of d2se
Edit: and no I didn't get the error without median installed, I immediatly installed median after reinstalling LOD But I never had the problem when I palyed clean Lod

you might be launching it wrong

have you installed the mod properly for D2SE play? (you need a modfolder inside the MODS folder, this folder is the one you get when you download median, the one that contains the .MPQ (you need the entire folder))

then you need to scroll down on the patch/mod list in the middle of D2SE and select the Ultimative banner.

so you're saying if NOW you try clod without median, you don't have this issue?

(d2se helps you test this as well)

Yes I put the entire median xl folder inside the diablo 2 mods folder and I get that error
Edit: Nevermind I got d2se to work now to play and see if the error still exists if it does I will try vanilla LOD
Edit 2: The crash is still happening even with d2se

DirectDraw may help.
Or play without sound. -ns in the target directory of your launcher.
Is the D: drive you're running Diablo from some form drive, like a hard drive, usb, solid state drive? Or is it your DVD drive?

Actually a fresh reinstall to my solid state drive fixed all my issues, I appreciate the response.
