Passive summoner build (That isn't Nec)

Have any of you made any viable passive summoners other than necromancer? What character did you use, and how did it hold up in early, mid and late game?

I liked the barbarian summoner with the retaliate spirits + snake stance (retaliate/thunderslam to spread its slow and poison) + maybe kraken stance for various immunes + wolf stance for WTF fast moving summons + thunderslam (CC + slow/poison spread + stun/knockback) + lolsummons + maybe some oskill totems + maybe nephalem weapons (summons get the bonuses iirc, awesome with kraken) + spirit walk to teleport-jump from monster to monster and then demolish them by knockback stunning and multihtting them. They can die quickly at times though (especially to aoe), because they're not magic immune like necro summons (but I think they are poison immune).

I had a build with them once. they had like 50k health each and I had about 30 of them. But as long as you max their res, they only get hurt by physical and Magic. So they can be somewhat tanky.

my build is at first view a regular fortress build, but with high kraken stance aura and 2 screens aura range reanimates profit alot of my presence Razz.

What i am reanimating:

25% trap rat ( ue to a mistake they are gone) atm its stone hammer demons Razz- weapon
vizjun mobs - sssu quilted
unseelie lady low lvl hidden crafted boots
i really want destroyer shaman harkon gem and void archon fools, as gloves im not sure which reanimates i prefer Razz( could even wear the goddamn overused demonic touch )

actual kraken dmg (20k per element)

Are they effective? Or does your tower do most of the work?
