Item fabrication; thinking outside the box.

Post by Westville on Sat Jul 19, 2014 8:24 pm

I was just curious on peoples' opinion on items that they would like to see in game. Specifically perhaps changing a tu form to another tu form; or adding a low level set that can drop only in destruction for twink purposes only, or even a set that can drop anywhere but its a low level one. Basically nothing epically OP and no new SSSSSSSSSSSU. Truly something that you think would be beneficial to the uniqueness of the game.

Example:

Name: Blood Raven's Hair (SSU)
Type of item: Amazon only Helm

Stats:
Defense = 0
DR 15%
40% chance to cast  lvl 2 spike nova on kill
+ 17 to way of spider
-25 enemy poison resist
-25 enemy fire resist
Only useable on amazon caster (bloodzon)

^not sure if that's possible, but would be an interest addition to the bloodzon; while giving it a weird "melee poison from the spike nova kind of base"...

Example Two: (he donated so much to support this mod; perhaps an item with his name like greg? ) lol.
Name: William's Breathe (TU1)
Item type: Paladin only Helm

Stats:
1% chance to cast level 1 tainted blood on kill.
50- 150% second duration to Dragon morph (Sorry forgot skillname off hand)
All Resist 5-10
All stats + 1-5
Flat Damage reduce 5-10

I think this would help with some low level duration; and make the dragon paladin more fun for low lvls. Though it doesn't really BUFF the paladin later in game; it still may be used by people who want to massively increase the duration of dragon form to make it more fun.

I'd like to see others ideas on some interesting items; not like they would actually ever be implemented; but I found this fun to think of. Perhaps if this goes well I can convince marco to let me host a contest that can be voted on and the winner gets their item made? ;P

There's a thread in the Sigma forums specifically for this purpose.
I don't think MXLU itself needs more items, personally. There's a ton of weaker ones that could use balancing first.

Name: Blood Raven's Hair (SSU)
40% chance to cast lvl 2 spike nova on kill
[...]
Only useable on amazon caster (bloodzon)
Non-poison spells can't proc on-kill procs.
The only way a Bloodzon would be able to proc that would be by using an Psn oskill like Devouring Cloud.

Ahh I didn't know there was a different thread; I also had posted that this could potentially replace a useless TU or SU or something that isn't used since I saw lots of people wanting some removed. Just was curious on some possibilities

Edit: cookie for teaching me something I didn't know. Thank you!

Would "when slain" or whatever it is work then? I remember seeing in a different thread someone stating that it procs on spells but is extremely rare.

when slain would work but then again you can just equip danmaku and kra javelin and benefit alot of that helm. wyrd oskill makes it even worse

Name: William's Breathe (TU1)
Item type: Paladin only Helm

Stats:
Random Mood Bonus
200-250% Gold Find
Grants Fury when attacked

@aknazer Again, archon256 IS that "someone" you usually refer to but don't give credit. Maybe admins could clarify this by giving him the "someone" title.

@OP Makes more sense for some low/mid lvl runewords to be added in the mod, rather than replacing uniques, especially Tiered.

Adding low level summoner runewords. Leveling a summoner necro without farmig a lot for tu is very boring ...
