Paladin Vindicate Ability

Post by Mangekyox on Sun Aug 03, 2014 2:57 am

I'm wondering exactly how the ability works.

I know that after a kill you receive a heal over time. But the way the damage works has me confused.
Does the ability apply a damage modifier to whoever has the curse on them, or does it grant you increased damage after you have killed a target inflicted with the curse?
I'm only wondering because I never get a tooltip damage update.

Thanks

The increased damage and the heal are both granted to whoever kills a target inflicted with the curse.

Please use the short question thread for questions like this in the future, it saves on forum clutter. Thanks.

No worries.

Is there any reason that the tooltip damage doesn't update?
Or is it just a hidden increase?

Can't be that wise if I didn't answer his question fully.  DOH!

By tooltip damage I'm guessing you're referring to the damage a spell does?
Vindicate only increases the damage of your attacks, not your spells. You can clearly see the damage of Retaliate or your normal attack go up in the Character Screen when you kill an enemy cursed with Vindicate. And if you have PlugY you can also see your character's Enhanced Weapon Damage stat go up by 150%.

(In case you were referring to the damage of Lemures and/or Blood Thorns, those are actually spells that require a melee attack to be released.)

Oh right. I think I may have misunderstood the ability.
I was under the impression it increase all damage by the % given, not just an enhanced weapon damage mod buff.
I was comparing my Mindflay damage.
Oh well, I suppose it would be a bit broken if it increased all damage done ^_^

Yeah, in MXL "Damage increased by %" always refers to weapon damage increase. It needs to specifically say Spell/Fire/Cold/Lightning/Poison or Phys/Magic to refer to spell damage.
