I have tried it for a few days now. The only thing that is not usuall is controls. First is walking. You walk when you keep pressed the left mouse button down - you walk towards the cursor. Now if the cursor is further away - you run towards it. It really fun or annoying when you have to chase enemies with melee chars. Because you have to use one button to walk/run and the other to atack Very Happy and monsters like to act like Diablo 1 ranged enemies - they run away until you trap them in corner diagonally.
I tried the story mode - it's not just simple hack and slash. Game gives options to use traps to kill enemies and most of the time you have to use them because given enemies are strong enough to survive regular atacks.
The best thing is hidden areas. And to find them you have to poke walls to see if they crack, smash big barrels to see under them and so on. If someone is looking over your shoulder while you play, they might be surprised why this guy is walking by the walls and hiting them with sword Bouncing Mr. Green

Anyone ever played Final Fantasy V? Smile
One of my favorite old school games.

These days I don't revisit such gems a lot anymore.
It's a bit sad, I have the feeling I don't have time for it.

Seven pages and not one single Infocom text based adventure or BBS game with ASCII graphics mentioned yet. For shame.

We used to refer to something called The Zork Barrier. This was that point where you have done everything you can possibly think to do but still have not beaten a task driven game. In the Infocom text games you would have a progress percentage listed in the lower right(?) hand corner. it would hit 99% and you think you have done absolutely everything. Eventually you are reduced to going around typing "Say Fuck" to walls and random objects/people.

Fun times.
