Yeah I thought the manga ended a lot more cleanly for mirai nikki, not sure why they decided to do it like that in anime :S

Oh and another really good one is Steins;gate. Kinda on the same strain of wierd themes but the characters are really colourful esp main character - kyouma is awesome Very Happy

Watched as well Razz

Im waiting the new one from them, robotics ; notes.
Heard people praised the visual novel of it.
But people hated the main character.

Chaos ; Head was kinda weird. But i liked it very much.
Feel the protagonist is kinda like me, except i didnt dillusioned that much.

2012 seem like kinda slow moments for anime.
From what i read top 10 anime, it kinda.. meh compared to 2011.
I got a lot of catchup to do, still have about few hundred anime episode to go.
(I downloaded full anime batches usually)

Yeah I'm generally not a huge fan of typical harem/shounen animes which means the anime I actually want to watch are few and far between Sad I'm a bit hesitant about robotics;notes but I will probably check it out at some point. Also really enjoyed chaos;head - watched that one ages and ages ago lol

A really good twist on the boring and overused harem genre for me was Bakemonogatari and to a lesser extent Nisemonogatari (too much stupid fan service, not enough witty dialogue). The movie Kuronekomonogatari was quite decent too and cleared up a lot about some of the plot in Bakemonogatari Very Happy

But as far as 2012 goes for me...
-Sword Art Online = was actually way better than what I was expecting
-Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita = a kind of random anime with decent humour
-Danshi koukousei no nichijou = I actually really liked this one - had some really funny moments.

Bakemonogatari and Nisemonogatari seem got huge praise, but i personally didnt understand/100% focus when watching that series (usually i will do something else like surfing internet / doing work if Im thinking i watching weird/boring anime).

Watched nisemonogatari solely for the teeth-brushing section, and im abit disappointed.
I dunno i didnt like much these two considered IM FREAKING LOVE all shaft animation work (hidamari sketch, pani poni dash, puella magi madoka, negima?!).
Well at least it is not as extreme as Zetsubou Sensei, although pretty similar (same voice actor?)

Nothing interesting to share for my recent anime, but I just want to say about ending.

Ending to me is most important thing other than series' introduction or plot progression.
What I mean is, like other media series, ending is the one that usual leave big impression to the audience.
It much more important if you have proper climax on the series/movie.

But i freaking hate when you have climax on going for about 1 1/2 episode only to wrap within couple seconds.
Im not talking about what happen after story end.
Im talking about transition between climax to ending.

Imagine this:
1. Main character meet final boss
2. Main character struggle with final boss because final boss is OP
3. Main character remember something in the past
4. Main character powered up with emotional rage
5. Final boss scared
6. Final boss lose after 1 single punch
7. The end.

WTF............................
There are way too many anime that end like that.
Cant believe i watched something like with recent anime.
FML.

Didnt knew that theres a thread like this one here.

Oh well - where to start? as you see my fav is without of doubt ruroni kenshin ova (tv series are mild and crappy). I know n/nmamig after anime hero s lame but whatever Dancing .

Tbh for long time i dnt follow anything new; just wait for next seasons / remakes or resurections. Or ofc smth worthy enough to pass from any animaniac friends. I dnt know how recently it was but certainly ef a tales x2 and re of fma are worth watching.

And at the end long life lasting dream of next berserk series. (i know about golden age but thats so far away from what i want .... )

Usually i wrote review after i finished watching.
But this one i just write when im still middle of it.

I cant believe i missed the story called "Umineko no Naku Koro Ni".
Just like "Higurashi no Naku Ni", the origin for this anime came from Visual Novel game.
And like 2 series before, it focused on murder.

As for this series, only one word can describe it all.

MINDFUCKED

Throughout the story, thing that in my mind was "WTF that happened" "WTF is that possible" "WTF story is this?"
I rarely watch anime like this (probably similar to Mawarum Penguidrum").
But this just beyond imagination.

EDITED:
Finished the series, still MINDFUCKED.
I feel like terrible series with a lot of plot hole, not to mention multiple arc in one series that seem like retelling same stories couple of times.
Tbh, only first episode till 1/2 in episode 5 are good, then WTF-train choo chooing throughout the series.
Also, what a worst ways to wrap up the series with stupid kind of ending.

*As least all higurashi series have sense in it. This one... have zero sense.

I tryed the latter one you mentioned above. Dnt know, i always liked more complicated anime but not that much and not in "this" manner. Al least it has nice opening song.

If you want try smth old and not really known - check "Mononoke" (ofc thats NOT Princess Monononoke). Really hardcore thing which deals with every kind of dirt. Tbh its among very few titles that i label it as for adults only.

Complicated is ok, but I was expecting the some sort of murder/mystery solving type of anime than what i watched.

At least I watched some good anime that have similar theme like Gosick (loligoth solving crime), Kamisama no Memo (lolinerd solving crime using internet) and Shiki (multiple mysterious death case in isolated village).

Anyway im going to watch standard slice of life/comedy/school type anime again to clear my mind.

This one?

Wow.... quite high score.
I will try to find that and watch it.

HAve you watched Neon genesis? Has three different endings, a boring TV version, a hashed the entire series cut into a film one and (if you miss the last three episodes out) an awsome proper film ending.
