The Blue Hunt (Wolf using slow effect)

Post by anhvanthe on Thu Dec 25, 2014 2:16 am

Hello everyone.  This is my unfinished guide/discussion on my wolf druid. In this build, I mainly focus on slow effect, 100% open wound, and crushing blow (I have 55% now, at lv 67). As I just finished only the lv challenge 1 and  am still in act 3 (farming crystals), I don't guarantee the success of this developing build in the end game.  I just want to share my idea so that my wolf druid will become stronger and stronger. Therefore, all suggestions are welcomed :d

My idea is inherited from someone's slow bow druid build so 70% credit own to him :d

**********
Build explanation
_"Harbinger" is very good at slow spread because the missile pierces and the area of effect is 16 yards (whole screen). As it deals weapon damage so pros will work effectively, especially on striking ones.

_Acid fiends
To me, Harbinger is a combination of pounce (teleport),  and bend the shadow (gather minions when teleport). Therefore,  I decide to invest on acid fiends to have meet shield, damage boost, attack speed and the 3rd type of damage (poison). They work great when the slow is spread out off-screen. Also, their aura also help other reanimates. So, acid fiends is a stone that kill 2 birds

_"Feed the pack" will create immortal reanimate. It is very helpful because we can control the chance to reanimate savage wolf in order to best fit our preferred reanimate. If you want a reanimator druid,  it can be a 1 pointer.

_"Elfin weapon" gives crushing blow. In early, and even mid-game, my wolf druid has a lot of spare skill point so I will max out this skill until I reach round 90% CB

_Twisted claws
As I tested the killspeed with Creature of Flame in Hatred, players 8, Twisted claws (maxed) is more effective at single target than Harbinger. However, as the bonus cold damage is not significant (150~320 at level 11), and the duration increases slightly 0.6 sec, I decide to leave it as 1 pointer for now.

_Elven Song.
Maybe helpful in some case

Maybe we need some "Upcoming Guide Abstracts" stickies in each of the guide sections, that way people can advertise--or seek input--without littering the section with guide snippets.

For your Merc's bloodlust to benefit from Sharkbaiter, he would have to be the one wearing it.

Maybe he is using P. Gems for that. He is running a melee build and imo, maxed resists is a must.

Wyand's Fervor
Defense: (5071-6289)
Durability: 39
Required Strength: 486
Required Level: 100
15% CtC lvl 13 Forked Lightning on Attack
+1 to All Skills
20% Faster Run/Walk
60% Increased Attack Speed
Adds 100-200 damage
+(21 to 25)% to Fire Spell Damage
+(21 to 25)% to Lightning Spell Damage
Slows Melee Target by 10%
+(201 to 250)% Enhanced Defense
+(31 to 50) Mana on Striking
Socketed: 6

Mana on striking with this allows you to Harbinger infinitely.

Use Lo RW in weapon untill you can get it, you can double orb the RW for tons of CB. Also has decent DMG

FHR becomes a serious issue with wolf.

Wolf can be the fastest farmer in the game really. Only for certain levels though and ANY lag will instantly kill you. In TA if you lag or dont have high FHR and super maxxed lifeshield you die instantly when you harbinger in.

It is great for farming Duncraig, that is untill you have to teleport. Then you have to wait for pots to give you enough mana to teleport over and get a few harbingers off.

I use Teganze at 120 because of life and mana too.
