WiP boss which has replaced the old Athula encounter (or not)

Post by Daimoth on Sat Dec 27, 2014 12:52 pm

Same drops as the old encounter, summoned the same way. Attacks with meteor shower, rat summons, screen-wide barrage and melee; very low damage output overall.

Because of my build I couldn't get a passable screenshot, but: http://i.imgur.com/umWD6KK.png

In the unlikely event you can make sense of that clusterfuck, it appears to resemble The Summoner.

Is there any other info on this encounter?

So that's what that does. I'd heard it received a hefty nerf, and considering its mana cost I've never bothered with it.

Athulua is the prime deity of the Amazon people. With her consort, Kethryes, she rules over the seasons and the weather.

what's the problem?

she shouldn't be summonable with the old way (1/10 chance when killing the statue in TA) in XVc

No problem. Head over to Tran and break the shrine a few times, Marco appears to have a new heroic encounter in the pipeline. It doesn't have a name yet, but I suspect it may be an incomplete Kethryes - who is Athula's mate according to the lore.

As I said earlier, he kind of looks like the summoner, has same drops as the old Athula encounter, and has nearly nonexistent damage output, making him a cheesy way to stock up on Deity's Bows if you've the patience to farm him.

the old athulua looked like the summoner.
and the old athulua had the same drops as athulua.
and had almost no damage unless she used skills/rats.
you see where I'm going with this? Very Happy

but maybe you're right... who knows

I do. For whatever reason I thought the old athula encounter was amazon-esque.

But in that case yes, the old Athula encounter is still accessible by popping the shrine, although  it's lost its name string.

I'd be embarrassed if I had any shame to speak of. Razz
