Does faster R/W have breakpoints?

Or does every little bit help? I understand run/walk speed is calculated in yards/second - I was wondering if there were specific breakpoints for that? Also, does it affect morphs?

(I tried to post this to short question thread - said it was locked)

To my knowledge it does not have set breakpoints, every little bit has a small effect (even though not sure if every 1% makes a difference).
What's for sure is that it has diminishing returns, meaning that if you have 0 FRW and use +50 FRW boots you get +50 FRW on your char
vs. your char has 200 FRW, if you then equip the +50 FRW boots in which case the added running speed would be less.

it has diminishing returns
frw from skills has a much bigger effect than frw from items
what many people don't know is that some armors and shields reduce your frw (I think they use the skill frw formula, but I'm not sure) - you can see this in Items --> Base (one of the columns for armor).

Here are parts regarding run and walk speeds and bonuses, from my unfinished stats page:

Item FRW


Effective item %FR/W = (150% * %FR/W) / (150% + %FR/W)

but I'm not sure if the cap is still 150% or if marco changed it.

Run/Walk Speed


Total run and walk speeds can be calculated as follows:

Walk Speed = Base_walk_speed * (1 + Total_Speed_Modifier/100%)
Run Speed = Base_run_speed + Base_walk_speed * Total_Speed_Modifier/100%

Neither can go below Base_walk_speed/4, so the bottom caps are reached for:

Walk Speed: Total_Speed_Modifier = -75%
Run Speed: Total_Speed_Modifier = 25% - 100% * Base_run_speed/Base_walk_speed

Total_Speed_Modifier is the sum of Effective item %FR/W (see above), body armor/shield %FR/W penalty, skill %FR/W and any other modifier (eg. slow, debuffs).

The base walking and running speed for different characters and states (morphs) may be different. You can find the Base_walk_speed and Base_run_speed values for the 7 character classes from MXL 2012 v005 here (they've been increased in Ultimative):

Thanks for the info.

Stoya is right - Traprat is slow, even with 120% FRW (all from items, not skills)

-121% frw is a breakpoint i know of ( -120% is basicly standstill and -121 is maximum run-speed)

Per Mike's guide, I haven't invested points in Acid Fiends - and I've been pretty happy with the build, despite being utterly unable to find the Rainbow armor (two/three of every other piece)

-121% FRW, is that even possible? I'm trying to get faster, not slower Cool

I'm looking forward to finding the Adrenaline Rush ring (fingers crossed)

as with everything else in this game, once you reach ed the lowest point, if you go any lower you will end up with the highest possible. ( also works with xp ; get -experience and lvl instantly from lvl 1 to lvl 120, however you can only do this with hacking)
