Turning SU to passives or extrat oskills from them?

Post by PodolskyV on Fri Jun 26, 2015 9:33 am

The new D3 patch will be out soon, that will add posibility to extract some properties from legendaries and turn them to passives. D3 mechanics is compleetely shit, but this one looks like interesting idea for Median. What do you think about that? Yes over 9000 passives can be OP, but I think it's debatable.

Even if it were possible, no. It makes no sense to have this option. Charms provide some stats and that's enough of a "passive" bonus, it's hard to still add 1 more thing and keep it balanced and by adding (transforming) many more it will just turn stupid, aka you become invincible, overflow life/mana/dmg, all classes/builds will have same stuff and all stuff and mash up into the same thing. It will ruin the game, i don't want to think about it anymore.

Is that Engine limitation? Why signets of learnig is possible, and this one is not?

Yes, I mentonied that over 9000 passives is OP, but turning into charm maybe good, ubercharms and cycles takes a lot of inventory space, but it can be solved with some limited space vessels.

Maybe think in terms of the fact that in order to do this, thousands if not millions of lines of code might have to be written for all the possibilities. Seeing as how whist doesnt get paid for working on this.... i doubt he'd be interested in doing something so potentially complex.

Is that even for turning into charms? I remember there are simillar charms in Battle for Elements mod.

turning those items into charms would require a few hundred lines in cubemain.txt.

Signets of skill/learning work because they add to the uninvested points.

You should mroe or less compare it to an apple ( or goodberry) which adds a state for a given time. Rejoining would ruin this though.
